Detailed Itinerary: Rainbow Mountain Day Trip from Cusco
- 04:00 AM – Hotel Pickup & Departure: We begin with direct pickup at your Cusco hotel to start our drive south through the Andean valley.
- 06:30 AM – Andean Breakfast in Cusipata: Arrive at Cusipata village to enjoy a warm, nutritious breakfast to fuel your hike.
- 07:30 AM – Drive to Trailhead (Phulawasipata): Continue by tourist transport to the official trailhead at 4,600 meters (15,090 ft) above sea level.
- 08:30 AM – Guided Ascent Hike: Begin the gradual 1.5 to 2-hour hike surrounded by Andean landscapes, grazing alpacas, llamas, and snow-capped peaks.
- 10:30 AM – Arrival at Rainbow Mountain Viewpoint: Reach the main summit viewpoint (5,020 m / 16,470 ft). Ample time to admire the mineral pigments, take iconic photos, and hear historical insights from your guide.
- 11:30 AM – Descent Hike: Begin the 1-hour walk back down to the transport control point.
- 01:00 PM – Andean Buffet Lunch: Board the transport back to the Cusipata restaurant for a rewarding buffet lunch.
- 03:00 PM – Drive Back to Cusco: Depart Cusipata for the return drive to the imperial city.
