04:30 – 05:00 hrs Pick-up and Departure from Cusco:
- Early morning pick-up from your hotel or central meeting point. Departure via tourist transport heading south from Cusco.
07:00 – 07:30 hrs Breakfast Stop:
- Stop in a town like Cusipata or Combapata (depending on the operator) to enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast.
07:30 – 10:00 hrs Journey to Canas Province:
- Continue the scenic drive, traveling through the diverse landscapes of the Andes Mountains.
10:00 – 10:30 hrs Four Lagoons Circuit :
- Visit and photo stop at the first lagoon (usually Pomacanchi). Brief stops for viewing at Acopía, Asnaqocha, and Pampamarca.
10:30 – 11:30 hrs Arrival and Q’eswachaka Visit:
- Arrival at the Apurímac River canyon. The guide provides a detailed explanation of Inca engineering, the history of the Qhapaq Ñan, and the annual renewal ceremony (UNESCO Heritage).
11:30 – 12:30 hrs Bridge Experience:

The bridge is located in the department of Cusco, over the Apurimac River at 3,700 meters above sea level. Nearly a thousand people from different communities near the bridge gather for four days to renew it.
To get to the Q’eswachaka bridge on your own, you can reach the district of Quehue, located 180 kilometers from Cusco. From there you can take a taxi or bus to take you to the site but you will have to reserve it all day because there will be no return transportation.
Three and a half hours from the city of Cusco, in the Quehue district and at an altitude of 3,700 meters, is the Q’eswachaka bridge over the Apurimac River, which measures 29 meters long and 1.20 meters wide.
