Rainbow Mountain with ATVs Tour Full Day

Your incredible adventure to Rainbow Mountain begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel at 4 am! We will then embark on a scenic 3-hour drive through the South Valley. The early morning drive is dark and gives you plenty of time to rest or even nap before we begin our exhilirating day.

Once we arrive at the trailhead in Japura, (3,951m/ 12,962ft) we will fuel up with a delicious and satisfying breakfast. After breakfast we take a short journey to our private ATVs. We drive through a beautiful terrain for approximately 1 hour towards Qosqopata. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Ausangate Mountain and its magnificent glaciers. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the local community and learn about their rich Quechua culture. Don’t hesitate to ask your guide about their traditional clothing and the significance behind the different hats worn by the men. You might even pick up a few words in Quechua!

Hop of our ATVs and after a brief 30-minute hike, we will finally arrive at our destination: the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain! Standing tall at 5,200m/17,060ft, this awe-inspiring natural wonder will leave you in awe. Take your time to explore the area, capturing memorable photos or simply savoring the panoramic view. We recommend the short hike up the neighboring mount to get a better view and angle of the striking colors. We will spend approximately 30 minutes at the summit, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty that surrounds you.

As we make our way back to Qosqopata, we will hop back on our ATVs for another thrilling ride. From there, we will return to Japura for a well-deserved lunch. Finally, we hop back in the van and embark on the 3-hour journey back to Cusco, where we will drop you off at your hotel, arriving around 5:00 pm.
